    An intro + a game demo guys!

    ripX and I have been pretty busy working on our 3D game lately...that I didnt really have the time to work on my independent one. So while that project is on hold, i decided to share it with you guys.

    well that being said - here we go:
    here's a little intro to my game - its not the first cutscene and really doesnt explain the plot at all - but just something in the beginning.

    Controls:

    Right/Left to move
    Up to jump
    Down to duck
    Z to shoot
    Space to pause(yay!)






    hehe...maybe soon enough me and rips will show off a little demo of our 3d wonder



    oh - and i decided not to market this game - and that means im shamelessly using the TMNT music.

    The graphics look really pixelated, and I got stuck while playing the game, but the intro's great, and so's the name. Hobort!

    yeah pixelation was the engine behind the game... i'm going for that nes feel game.

    and yeah, the game has some bugs, ill fix those...someday

    the intro was cool but is there anything 2 do in the game? i went 4ward 4 about a minute and didnt find anything.

    make it so u can shoot when u r crouching!

    ps. framerate was 19-20 on Athlon XP1800+

    very funny intro,sure some stuff to do in the game but as blink said,its pretty unique
    i don´t know,in the game itself,you should add more colorful backgrounds,think its too gloomy there

    @blincomeister: nice, bud, always great to hear some praise from ya

    @jon: hah, there's no enemies yet in the game, so i guess it could seem a little dull. 19-20 framerate on 1800mhz? thats awful! what browser are you running? im getting around 28-30 in IE on a 1.1 athlon

    @tom: all the backgrounds are under 1k...haha just to aid the framerate . thanks for replying... and the old footer is back! yes! i love that one!

    i did have quite a few things running and had 22% of system resources free will check again 2morrow!

    Your game is the coolest premise for a game i've seen in a long time. There is a very high shortage of games that have hobos.

    @john: 22% free? heh well maybe thats the problem. you might have some of spy/bloatware on that box of yours - i did - just shut all those buggers down, itll make your processor's life so much easier

    @atdi: thanks for the compliment, and you're right! there isnt enough games with hobos!

    did u use a randomly generated background??? or spend the time making a good old fashion hand drawn one, and scrolled????

    im making a platform game of " The Nightmare Before Christmas " one of my favorite animated movies . although i need a jump script and i dunno how to use the gravity and stuff in flash so i got a long way to go b4 itz finsihed. im more arty than scripty.

    Haha, I liked the graphics, they are so similar to the graphics in the game im making.. sorta, but good luck with it!

    nice, i see that you guys are liking the game

    @skribble style: you mean a drawing API? or whether it is tile based or art based? the graphics are all drawn out by hand, and is not drawing api - it is a gif that is only 0.2 kilobytes big, so its no biggie on the CPU. the scrolling method i made a while ago - erm the engine that runs the game - its called half and half - look thru the boards and you'll find it
