Here's an idea, it uses functions and will make your code a LOT smaller:
instead of:

} else if (_root.guy.lowkick.lowkick.hitTest(this)) {

gotoAndPlay ("death3");

use this:

hitcode("death4")
} else if (_root.guy.lowkick.lowkick.hitTest(this)) {
