Kung Fu Monkey Modelling Tool KFMMT

Following on from the Doom post
    http://www.flashkit.com/board/showth...hreadid=446963

here is KFMMT, the latest version figure manipulator tool.

The object is to let you collect datapoints for use in a larger application where subroutine calls can perform actions on a model e.g walking, running, jumping etc.

This version has sliders to make it easier to set up the movements but functionally it is similar to the last version. I have added a dwell time datapoint to be used later and I have ideas for more options such as z-axis rotation eventually.

The applications for this tool are still occuring to me. It should be possible to create a 3d-terrain model with trees and buildings instead of limbs. Then when the object is moved around the perspective should change. This fixed-knuckle modelling is like molecular chemistry manipulation. Who wants to try a sugar-molecule in Flash?

If you do download and test this tool, with amusing or usefull results, save the generated output (right-click in text window, select all, then copy) and post it here as a text file. I intend to make a version which will read the edit box if you paste content into it and play it back. Maybe we can run a Funky-Monkey-Motion contest. Eventually I will make it read external XML files too.

Poll if you like it and discuss...

OK - After much furious clicking, I present my entry to the contest:

"Camp Monkey squats, salutes, runs, jumps and limbs fall off !"

(I think something went wrong at the end, but it makes for a funnier animation)

Congratulations ForumNewbie you may have won $1,000,000

    Here is your customized award.

I really must make a version which reads files.

I just played around with ForumNewbie's entry and I see a couple of FMM Contest Classes

    Best Basketball player
    Best Hawaiian Dancer

I will get another version out tonight if possible which will have an interactive object for the monkey to use (Duh! a bouncing ball?)
and if we give it speed and velocity we can hang a basketball net on the tree trunk! Of course the monkey can do a slam-dunk and hang off the hoop after scoring - this is getting too cool...

Does anyone have the code to open an xml file in the same directory as the .swf is located in a website? Needed a.s.ap. Thanks

    Wow!!! Nice

I haven't had time to work on this since Beta2 but here is link to the test XML guestbook I was playing around with trying to figure out XML.

It's no where near ready but it might help
