    3dfa 4 beta 3 possible memory leak

Hi, dl'd 3dfa 4 beta 3 and started a new movie. Created quite a long text string (approx 200-300 chars), then decided to stick in some new lines coz it was too long, at this point things started to slow down, I then started editing the text and things got real bad, almost looked like the machine had hung up, I checked task manager and 3dfa exe was using 300Mb of main menory and 630Mb of VM, and growing, I had to kill the process. I was using win2k server SP3.

    Any thoughts?

It sure sound like it, I think it should be reported to 3DFA so that it is fixed in the final, but also maybe they allready know about that kind of leak.

I have tested to do a movie with 'freehand'paths and I don't report the slow action because I think they're on top of it anyway!

I have recently discovered the same problem.
I would type a letter and it would be a few seconds before it would show on screen. I'd type an entire sentance before the first word would appear.

At first, I thought that my RAM was getting clogged so I installed RAMBOOSTER. To my surprise, I watched the alarms going crazy.
I would optimize the ram and wipe it clean to 100mb free and then nearly as fast as I could wipe it, it would shoot back down to the alarm level and re-optimize.

There has got to be some problem here.

The mystery is that it doesn't seem to do this all the time.

    ????
