CRAMMING!
Let's here some cramming stories, opinions or whatever. Nearly finshed a 15hr cram, which will hopeful pay off tommorrow seeing as i got 3 end of semester exams tommorow. Anyone got an good tip for tests etc (cramming, or the more socialy acceptable cheating etc.)? If you find this thread stupid dont blame me ive been awake for a couple of days straight and i dont usualy drink coffee.

Didn't do it.
Never was one for cramming; just basically paid attention in class, took notes and reviewed the day before or so (I'm the type that learns best by listening to others explanations, not from books) I've stayed up late before some difficult exams, but in general never had to 'cram' (oh look at me, I'm so smart... not really, just lucky in how I best absorb info is how they seem to teach it)
And cramming isn't a less-socialy acceptable form of cheating, as I understand it... and cheating will just cause problems (what level are you in in school? if you are in college/university, being caught cheating can get you thrown out in some cases)
Best advice? Relax. It's not going to do much for you right now, but next time start a week or so before the exam (if its that big) and study a little each night. Be sure to get a full nights sleep the day before, because your brain needs it to put that short term storage into long term recall.
There's also a proven link between smell and memory, so you can try to increase your chances by using a distinctive smell when you study and then having the same ordor when you take the exam. Obviously, pleasant smells work best... and I doubt anyone would appreciate your passing gas during a final. Keep a sliced orange on the table while you study math, spray some cologne on your history book, etc. and try to bring the same scent to the test.

I never paid attention in class even if I tried ...after 10-15 mins I was 'out there' (Some fascinating subjects like Greek mythology did grab my attention tho)
I always did better with a more hands-on approach and consistently scored very high in subjects like Maths and Science -I kept that up throughout college as well.
My highest point:
Scoring 98% in a (3hrs) final Maths exam at college as a final year Engineering student. I need to frame that transcript
my lowest point:
Religion studies - almost failed that in high school and had to write a paper over the summer which sucked big time.
Looking back I wish I had tried a bit harder and didn't just open the books the night before. There was no need for all that stress and caffeine.
Good luck and stay cool. My motto used to be: 'what's the worse thing that can happen?'. Deep down inside I knew very well what could happen but once you come to terms with the possibility of failing, you can focus a bit better and avoid a panic attack just mins before the exam or mental images of your mom saying 'i told you so'

it's legal or decriminlized in some countries, hocky.
however, I'm no longer a CL mod; I don't think it's advice that should stay in the thread.

Im an architecture major, and our form of cramming is a bit different. We have due dates for our projects but it's never enough time, so you spend the entire day before and the nigh of to get the project done, no sleep sometimes. I went 36 hours of working on a project nonstop one day(technically 2 days i suppose ) And once I went 4 days with about 9 hours of sleep. Its rough, but everyone does it and I MUCH prefer it over cramming for regular classes. Strange tho, eh?

Mental Deficit
hmm tests are a pain. It seems i always do good on the hard ones.
And bad one the supposedly "easy" ones.
I can only postulate the probability of performing at a paramount level of perfection praised by the pulchritudinous paragon whose only practice is to preserve such a paradigm.

Looks like I was edited.
I suggested our friend use an herbal substance, which grows and is the topic of much criticism. Evidently, even though I'd speculate many of the world's top designers use it, I've been moderated, again.
*For the record, I don't smoke.
Extremely sorry if I've offended anyone.

Well based on the last several weeks in my Structural Analysis class....
I crammed for the first midterm....pretty much pulled an all-nighter and I was wiped out for the test and did cr@ppy as a result...
The next midterm I studied a few hours the night before and got a good sleep....ended up pretty much setting the curve.
So the moral of the story is....
.....Pasta Roni is the single greatest food ever
