    New User - "FADE"

Sorry if this is toooo basic - How can I fade at any where other than at the begining or the end of a movie ? the instructions suggest that I should be given the oportunity to Modify or specify start and finish points I can seem to find that prompt under properties just get "initial fade in" or "final fade out"

The fade effects are applied to the either the first occurrence of the object or last occurrence of the object in the movie. Select the object and then select the effect under Effects menu bar. Does that answer your question?

In the last frame, select all the shapes (ctrl-A) and apply the fade out effect to all the selected shapes.

    FADE

Sorry to be a pain Bob , I have been trying that but I get a message saying "Effects can be viewed or edited for a single selected shape. Reduce the selection to one"

Then you have to apply the effect one at a time.

For multiple Objects its easier sometimes to not use the effects. Lets say you have 30+ Shapes you want to Fade or Change color.

You are better off Creating a second key frame, Selecting all the shapes , and then adjusting the color properties in the next frame.

Here you go. What I did was make a few balls animated and then on the last frame, I selected all the shapes and then selected "Shapes" and then "Group" then applied the fade effect. Here's the FUN FILE Enjoy

You might also try this -- add a rectangle filled with the background color and the size of the movie frame to the last few frames on top of everything. Apply a fade in effect to the rectangle. It will go from totally transparent to the background color.
