Hi!
Downloaded Swish yesterday (not regestred yet) ., Start playing with it and I found out that the file size with the same(typewriter effect) will be as much as two time bigger than the same effect created in Flash.???(maybe because i didn't regestred it ?
Paragraph with 5 lines of a text 8K?????? and lets say I need 5 paragraphs ., should I go and create 5 separate SWF's
and then bring it to flash OR there is a ways to import in in flash , duplicate MC and just change the text???????
Thanks for any help

Hi iliap,
I don't know if SWISH's text FX's files would be larger than FLASH's. But even if they are, I would still use SWISH for it. Im my opinion, it's more effective to save many hours on text effects working with SWISH, and then just take few extra seconds from viewer using preloader, then to spend hours doing it in FLASH, and have a smaller file size.
My opinion is based on comments, that make people, who create text FX's in SWISH, and in FLASH. I, myself, do not know FLASH, so I can not give any facts.

I use both SWiSH and Flash, and for me SWiSH is a godsend. I really only use flash for sounds, preloaders, and colour images that work work as image fonts.
I have seen articles in different threads that the file size in SWiSH is the same as it would be in Flash - if someone had taken the time to recreate the same text effects.
The main reason that swish files become big is that everyone is tempted to throw everything in, just because you can - and you know that only experienced Flash people could do the same. As a result the files can become bloated.

I'll have to disagree Ivanopulo..
Just as I said in my example with typewriter. Imagine that I need 20 different paragraphs of text in my Main movie..
I'll have to export 20 different swf. files from swish to Flash and so 20*8=160K... when in flash I'll use the same paragraph effect, duplicate movieclips and just change the text and so I'll stay with the same 8-10 K...

iliap,
Hmmmm...It's very interesting topic. As I've said before, I don't know FLASH. It would be nice to hear more opinions, and compare them. Most likely we would agree that we should use both programs. Maybe it depends on a situation. In one case it would be better to use SWISH only, in another FLASH only, or use both at the same time. In any case, you probably agree, that SWISH is a really usefull addon to FLASH, or whatever you use.

I was using, or should I say, trying to use flash for 3 months. I was getting there, but SWiSH helped. I now find that I do the basic text stuff in SWiSH and the rest in Flash.
BTW have any of you noticed an annoying habit of org's companies, etc., wanting a full copyright on the product?
I always put a copyright statement in my htm work. In the meta heads.
