    Anybody playing Madden 2004?

Just got the game for my birthday, and I have to say, online play is amazing. Last year it was so-so, but this year it rocks. Also, the new owner mode is great, too. Anybody else get it, and if so, are you up for a head to head challenge?

    Insert stupid question--->>>

Mind explaining to me how the online play works?
Once you buy the online hookup or whatever, is there like an hourly fee or something, or a fee for each game (like in hotel rooms), or is it charged to your phone/cable bill or what?
Or is it more like duke nukem like 6 years ago when you connect through a specified port to someone elses computer and play that way?

For some reason I have this stupid idea in my head that I'll buy PS2 attachement for like $50, play online for a few hours, and then get a $1000 bill from the phone company or somewhere.

Haha, don't worry flip, you won't have a high charge at all.

    Here's what happens:

    1. You purchase the online adapter for $40-50 dollars.
    2. Configure the adapter to your modem - easy to use wizard included with the adapter.
    3. Plug modem cord into adapter.
    4. Load Madden 2004.
    5. Go to Online Play.
    6. Create username and password.
    7. Connect.
    8. Choose playing name.
    9. Go into lobby - these range from 'Headset only' rooms to rooms by location - i.e. Canada, US East, etc.
    10. Challenge any player in that room.

As far as the charges go - Madden is completely free. If you are on 56k, you're charges are probably billed by every time you connect, but if you have cable (like me), you're always connected, so I don't see any spike in online payments at all.

    Trust me, it's worth it.

I have DSL, I also have Madden 2003 and Sega NFL 2K3 I think both have online gameplay.

I guess I'll look towards investing in the online play pack.
