    Suggested SWF Site Size

    Is 180K too big for a site SWF?

    yeah, that should be okay, I'd reccomend putting a pre-loader (or something that mentions the filesize) on it, but otherwise that's an alright size.

    Obviously, try to make the site as small as possible. It's not a good
    idea to have "Broadband is required" message on the site (although
    this is increasingly popular).

    For flash, if you can fit the whole site in under 200k, you're doing fine.
    But, yes to the preloader.

    My opinion is 100k.... make the site as big as you want but the second you reach 100k your site is too big and you need to be impletementing "on demand" movies that are loaded into the browser as the user requests it.

    Get people into your site ASAP... 500k broken up over 5/6 steps is a LOT better than a 500k initial download for a 56k user.... not only that, but if someone just needs to access your site to get your email address or something, that is quite annoying to have to sit through 200-500k+ worth of download just to find out how to contact you.
