No, you don't need flash to post here. Some people think that flash is a requirement.

The site looks pretty good. I wish you would have payed more attention to detail. The banner on the first page is pink with black text and its beveled. I'd change that to something that compliments the rest of the colors.
You should bind items in a little window like thing, so that it isn't confusing where one items description starts and another ends. That can be done rather creativly and should be easy with the layout you already have.
I'm not diggin the grid background, white would have done just fine and it's less cluttering.
Good site though, great for a first.
