    ! virus

    ok i use hotmail and i just got a letter with this message



    V I R U S A L E R T

    Our viruschecker found the

    W32/Sobig.f@MM

    virus in your email to the following recipient:

    -> support

    Delivery of the email was stopped!

    Please check your system for viruses,
    or ask your system administrator to do so.

    and headers from your email:

    Why is that bad? That's what viruses do. I would think people would be used to that virus by now.

    Isn't that how viruses work nowdays? They find an email and use put it in the From, wether or not it's actually from that person, then when the server gets the email and see's the virus it sends it back to the From person. So that doesn't mean that the email ever had anything to do with your email other then the fact your email was added into the From line to make people think it's okay to open it.

    either that, or spoof the from address via the SMTP service on an infected machine, and propagate itself that way.

    norton found 2 trojans and quaranteed them. but no sodumb.f vrus

    Cause Hotmail found the virus.. Not good though that you had 2 trojans on your PC though.. Got to keep your AV software running and up to date, same with Windows.. and if your online for a length of time you need a Firewall. That MSBlaster that's still going around and can still infect unpatched PCs was a worm, meaning it traveled around the web, and looked for unpatched machines, then would get into your PC if it wasn't patched. All without you haven't to activate anything.

    talking of viruses..

    did anyone get an e-mail warning of a sept11 virus attack...

    I have recieved three warnings now by e-mail, anyone got any more info on it if its true...

    (not worried as I well updated with AV and browser)
    and in a blink of an eye...
