Hidden FScommand "save"
Hi all i was looking through the sorce movies to find some help with saving arrays to a text file... , and found this bit of code it appears to be an un-documented feature of flash.
fscommand("writeToDisk", textBox);
From readme file....
This little routine was created almost a year ago to explore some fuctionalities of flash. THis routine has been tested on Win2000 and Flash 5.0 and works only from a local computer.
Question can be emailed to [email protected]
Adam & Floris
the next one i found was
on (release) {fscommand ("save", "c:\\test.txt");
after looking at the scoring for this movie 7.5 and thousands of downloads, i thought i would give it a try... only to find when i compiled the movie that nothing happened...
Could some one talk me through useing the fscommand "save" as this would be a usefull as everyone else rates it so highly.?
fscommand("writeToDisk", textBox);
I would of thought macromeida would of added this into there help system telling us something about the "save" command.
ok so 2 downloads and still no Joy..... i begining to think that people are just making the whole thing up and there is no such fscommand...
Thousands of happy people cant be wrong...
i want to be part of that happy croud to.
help the man out with his arrays...he he
p.s we giggled for ages at this...

You can code your own javascript fscommands then call them from flash, but I heard they aint very effective.
That is what you would have seen.

No!
Those commands most likely only work in flash 5 projectors as they can be considered security risks. Are you using flash 5?

Oh yeah, that reminds me, they held back with the fscommand in mx and 04' didn't they?
You have to have things to do with the fscommand in its own fscommand folder.
