    Compression

Ok, I have a .fun file which, when saved as an .swf comes out to 25.3kb. If I set SWF Statistics to version 6, then set the Flash 6 Export to Compress, I get a file size of 9.23kb, but when I view the compressed file in Flash Player 6 or 7 all I get is a blank screen. What gives here??

there is a bug here with sound.
Any programming language is at its best before it is implemented and used.

    hey Bob....

My file has no sound. I am not talking about wav or sound compression, I am talking about SWF file optimization under Export Settings > Flash 6 Export > Compress. When I use it , it seems to compress the SWF, but then the SWF will not play in the Flash Player (versions 6 or 7), all I get is a blank screen. The same thing happens when I compress an swf with the Sparkle compression tool. I must be missing something here or doing something wrong?

Can you put a link to the uncompressed swf on your site?

I looked at the files, but I can see them (unaltered) in Flashplayer 7 and in IE. Can you see them in IE? If yes, maybe you should reinstall your flashplayer.

OK, I think I figured out my problem.

I can view all my files now.

When I loaded SAFlash Player 7 into my Startup folder and used it, the default SAFlash Player set to version 7 on my PC, but when I opened up a file with version 5, the default reverted back to version 5 on my PC and I didn't realize that was what happened. I am OK now.
