    Background

    Hello,

I am a new user of KoolMoves and was wondering if it is possible to create a flash web page background with KoolMoves (and how) and still be able to put my content, links, etc. on the page? In other words, my home page would actually have something moving on the entire page such as a sphere from corner to corner and yet the page still have content and links, etc.

You should take a look at: http://www.kirupa.com/developer/flash5/dhtmlflash.htm
Sorry, if that's not what you mean.

    Just the opposite-HELP!

Thanks for the link, but the example has an animation OVER the text, mine would be UNDER. My idea is simular to a flash template(I'm thinking)except I want to create something that moves, like a gradient sphere, and it pass under any text, links, pics, etc. it would moves the full page corner to corner. Any ideas would be helpful! Thanks!!

The answer is yes but I cannot post a file until I get home. This is because i have a demo version at work. Unless Bob H would send me a link with a # so I could install the latest version at work.

    example is
    http://home.att.net/~picdiversion/ball.html

    these are the fun files:
    http://home.att.net/~picdiversion/ball.fun
    http://home.att.net/~picdiversion/loadmovie.fun
(make sure you download everything to the same directory so that all the paths are correct) With these files you can make the swf's.

    the text is simply loadmovie.swf

The movie is ball.html and ball.swf

loadmovie puts a movie into or ontop of the main movie.

loadmovie is found in koolmoves at view>actions and sound overview> then hit the plus sign and hit load movie...

If you look at my own web site, this is exactly how I did it.

I hope this helps. I think load movie is a powerful comand as it reduces large web sites into more modual ones.

So I take it that in KoolMoves, you can create a .swf movie of a ball moving and then use the LOAD MOVIE feature to load another .swf file (which would be links that are active, text ,pics, etc..inother words the actual homepage contents)on top of this ball movie?

Seems that I would only need the full page ball movie and then just use NetObjects Fusion, which I have, and create the page contents. Is this possible and have the ball movie running and the web page contents on top?

    Again HELP!!
    and THANKS!!!

I have never used NetObjects Fusion!!! But if NetObjects Fusion can create swfs then yes. I have mixed flash 5, flash MX and koolmoves with no problem.

    tmoore935,

Again thanks for such quick replies! NetOjects fusion is a HTML editor..a fancy one a that. You cannot make .swf files, thats why I bought KoolMoves for, but I use NetObjects Fusion to design a HTML page with my content (text, pics, links, etc.) So, again (sorry!) I could make a background .swf movies and use the Netobjects to make the contents?

    THANKS AGAIN!

I fell asleep last night before I could answer you and I am at work now so I can not do anything till this eve. I see were you are going now and I have never heard of it. Usually a swf is embedded in html. I have never seen it the other way around. This weekend I will have to try it. I know you can import dynamic text from a text file that has html in it. If someone else has any ideas please post them.

I searched a bit around but it seems to be impossible to put normal html text over a flash movie. From what I've read I understand that Flash always takes the top layer so working with layers also isn't an option.

If your whole site is a flash movie, you can use dynamic text but the support for html code in a dynamic text field is very limited.

    That's right !
The reason is ... the DTS method (the Flash plugin works Direct To Stage - in the highest layer)

    But wtd6e ...
what are you trying to do there ?

What's being said here is correct, You are going to have a background which will be a frontground cos the flash always migrates to the top layer. Also, you cannot auto-tile a swf so you're going to have to be pretty nifty with your width and hieght to get it to fit perfectly. From what I have read and understood so far,, Why don't you just go the whole hog and make it a 100% flash page, you can have all the movement you want without compromise. Cheers

    I agree.

    p.s.
A single plugin can "beat" the Flash plugin: the shockwave plugin (has nothing to do with SWF files).
It takes the highest layer (over the Flash layer).
This was for your information only !
