Scanning Centermeters to Pixels.

My problem is, if i draw an image on a peice of paper lets say 10cm by 15cm in size then i scan the image in it appears like 100 time bigger on the computer screen. Now i realise that things on a computer screen are measured differently in relation to size but i want to know if it is possible to scann an image which is 2cm by 2cm and make it appear as 2cm by 2cm on the computer screen and still have the same quality without resizing it or anything. ?? Dont properly understand scanning.

just make sure u adjust the dpi accordingly...
there's two different ones for scanners, the optical resolution and the interpolated resolution (bigger image by guess work)

make sure u set your dpi to as high as u want, but dont go over the optical resolution (probably about 300) oh your scanner....

low dpi, lower resolution, lower quality...

a monitor is usually around 72dpi, so u could scan at that size and u'll see the difference in quality and size, but once u come to printing u want as high a dpi as possible, so it really depends if ur intending to print out this image again after painting (or whatever)

i'm sure there' people here who know about scanners a lot better than me though... (never use em)

thanks xup878 i dont indent to print out these images. Its purely for website and game purposes. I want the quality to be high but the size to be the same as seen on the paper.

It would be abit hard as everyone uses diffrent resolutions and monitor sizes. I use 1280*1024 on a 17 inch monitor 2 cm on my screen would be very diffrent in pixel width to say 2cm on a 800*600 19inch. And on the web u can only go by pixel or %

i use the same resolution. So how would i do it depending on my resolution ?
