    3DS Question --- URGENT

I have got a mesh but when i render it, it can be rendered from one side, but when i try to render it from the other side, nothing is being rendered...
Why can that be - i think the answer is easy, but i'm new in this...

    ThanX.

Hi in lightwave you need to check "double sided" on the polygons they too are transparent when u look from the inside out (saves processing time) i've used max a few years ago but i never needed to see anything double sided, try searching in the manual or in the online help for double sided polys etc it will be there

max has 2 sided, its in the material editor. its near the top above where you set the specular and diffuse amounts.

{EDIT} PS: if that doesnt work, post your max file and ill see what i can do. i use max5.

Are you just using faces? If your mesh is only one sided ie. you used nurbs or something to create the front, then the back is transparent because there aren't any faces there. Try connecting your vertices at the back of your mesh and then try to re-render.

mmmm... try the "flip" option in polygon menu ( somewere there, just look for it) - of course that will just change the prob, so duplicate your object and flip it.
I'm pretty sure that's a bad technique though, I think it's better to use the compound object > bolean > romove technique.
