Has anyone here every written a tutorial? Let alone one on the most complicated tool in photoshop? I've been writing this one for 6 hours straight. I'm almost done though, hopefully by tonight.
    maybe.

yeah, written a few to help people out outside of the boards.

channel operations, calculations, and color theory are the next three that I have planned - whenever I find time to do them.

pen tool? dude, I gave up trying to explain that one to people. so you doing a tutorial on it makes you a much better man than me.

tut looks good, btw. mind if I add this to the upcoming resources add/change I have planned for the Arena?

What part of it's use is eluding you, Kaco? Can you explain where it starts getting confusing, or are you just being lazy?

nice tute no-tec. but youve wrote "pedals" an awful lot in the bit where you show how to trace a flower. shouldnt that be "petals"? or is it an american term?

Yeah, that's a pretty cool tut, No-Tec. Seems fairly comprehensive.

He's right about the 'pedals', though. Check out the third paragraph under 'Chop Suey'. Might want to do a word search on the whole document just to be safe.

A small note on the image directly above the aforementioned paragraph...I'm certainly not saying that one way is better than the other, but figured I would add my thoughts in regard to laying down the initial path around the petals. I have found it to be quicker to go ahead and pull out the correct shape as you work around the flower. It could be just a matter of preference, but once you get a feel for the way the lines will flow you can pull out the basic shape with the Pen Tool and use the Ctrl and Alt keys to switch to the SubSelect Tool or the Convert Point Tool to alter points on the fly with relative ease. Then when you are done laying down your path, your done...you only have to go back and maybe make minor adjustments.

Like I said, just another way to go about things.

yeah thats exactly how i used to do it, but got lazy so it do it this way. it almost feels faster to me, b/c you have the tracing step out of the way.

oh and thanks for the spelling. i wasnt sure :-x
