24 Discussion
Seems like there hasn't been one of these around lately, so why not start a new thread? I know there's some 24 fans on here, so what do you guys think of the recent turn of events on 24?
SPOILERS, AVOID IF YOU AREN'T UP TO DATE.

What's the deal with Michelle? Shouldn't she be dead by now? It seems out of the writers style to let her be immune to the virus; normally, she'd be killed off, no?
I'm really liking the whole Saunders controlling Palmer twist. This could be a nice diversion from the very un-interesting coverup of the Milliken affair.
Any thoughts?

I'm not reading what you wrote, but I missed this episode! Do they air reruns at all?

SPOILERS!!!
SPOILERS
Michelle just isn't dead yet. If Michelle were to die so would the rest of the hotel or at least the 90% that the virus is supposed to kill.
You have to remember Gaiel (sp) was directly hit with the virus right in the face. Everyone else would have contracted smaller amounts from the air. Within the next 2 shows (two hours) is when everyone should start dropping dead.

Michelle will probably be one of the 10 percent who doesn't get the virus. There of course will be a happy reunion with Tony. THey can't kill her off because she's supposed to be the big hero. But you never know, they did kill of Jack's wife in season one.
I think this season is definitley better than last season. I hope that the president follows through and kills Chapelle next episode. That guy is seriously getting on my nerves. I also think Chloe and Kim should be in the hotel catching that virus. Those two are the weakest links in the show imo. What is the purpose of Kim? Just to cater to the teen audience? Just find it funny that all of a sudden she's a computer expert. I figure they had to do something with her, as last season she spent the whole time running around aimlessly being chased by random rapists and mountain lions.
I like the new villain though, he kicks ass.

I agree with you that Chloe is annoying. However Kim is hot, so she can stay
As for Kim's purpose, I think she is suppose to be the reason Jack is living for. I mean Jack has no friends, no family (none we know of), a dead wife, no girlfriend, and seems to have no problem getting himself killed for the mission.
I guess Kim is suppose to be the reason Jack keeps up the good fight. Otherwise he'd just say screw it, and throw in the towel.
As far as Kim being a computer whiz kid. I guess 4 years of government training could get you up to speed. However, I never knew the US government's secret agencies hired unskilled workers straight out of college, with no college/university training, and put them in charge of data pertaining to the entire nations security. Then again, her father is a high up field agent

Is this the 3 season? It hasnt come to Norway yet

yea it's the third season Ihoss. Yea I agree with you flipshark. I doubt an intelligence agency would hire anyone to work on top secret data based on the a resume highlight of being on the high school cheerleading team. Kim is definitley hot, but she just doesn't seem to fit the part. What's with her hair this season? I don't mean to sound like Joan Rivers, but they should fire that show hairstylist. That 1985 bowlcut makes her look like a little boy.
Other than that the show has been good so far imo. I really liked it when Joaquim De Almeda was in it at the beginning, he's one of my favorite actors. I actually like the plot with the president and the whole Milkon thing. Curious to see how he's going to dig himself out of that one.

Just watched this one - wow, quite an episode. I like how Saunders is connected to the Drazen plot (couple seasons ago). I think Saunders is a great villian, although no one can replace Amador (sp), loved that accent!

Wow, this last episode on Sunday was pretty wacked out huh? Spoiler's below.
That was really messed up that Chappelle had to get killed. I didn't really like his character, but felt sorry for him in the end. I think it's pretty cool though that he did end up having to get killed, as most shows would have had the hero come in at the last minute and save the day. That's what I like about 24, it's more realistic that way.
On the other hand, did Jack have to shoot him execution style near a trailerpark or whatever? I mean, that seems pretty harsh. Couldn't they have just given him one of those suicide pills that they were handing out at the hotel?
-
That would've been the honorable thing to do... but where's the action in that?
J.B.: "Here, take this pill."
Chappelle: *Gulp*
Chappelle: ...
Chappelle: *Passes out*
Viewer: Er... yea, what's on NBC right now?
*SPOILERS BELOW*
One thing I didn't like was Michelle refusing to give the hotel manager one last phone call to his wife. I mean, how hypocritical was that? She's been talking to her husband all night and she flat out refused to do the same for the man who helped her out the most. Sad...

LOL yea I guess you're right, have to make it more dramatic. Would have even been more dramatic if Jack decided to bring Chase and Tony along with him in the chopper. Then they all beat him down with baseball bats, gangster style- taking it way to far, easing out all their frustrations over this guy for the past three seasons lol.
About Michelle, I thought the exact same thing. That was pretty hypocritical. Then I thought though she would justify it by saying she has to talk to Tony, since he is in command at CTU. Just convenient for her that he happens to be her husband. Though I don't think it would have done any harm if he were to call.
Another question I have. At one point in the show, they all start freaking out because that guy escaped from the hotel. Michelle said that they needed to make sure they contained him BEFORE he started showing symptoms, meaning if they were to catch him before his nose started bleeding, it would be ok. But I thought they said earlier, once you were exposed, you were exposed? Why would it matter if he was showing symptoms or not? I mean, Michelle is exposed, even though she isn't showing symptoms, that's why she isn't wearing protective gear, because that gear isn't going to make her any safer.
Another thing I was thinking, why is it that this terrorist is making more threats to release the virus? It's like his plan the whole time was for the virus to hit the hotel, but for it to not break out. A message, or bait to use for further demands. But how did the terrorist know that the virus at the hotel wouldn't spread beyond the hotel? It's in his interests not for the virus to spread, so he can make more demands. If he let out the virus and it spreads to the populous, he has no more barganing room because the worst of it is over. It'd be like trying to extort someone after you killed them.

Regarding the symptoms, once he starts showing them (bleeding from the nose, coughing, etc.), other people can catch the virus more easily. Therefore, catching him before he becomes symptomatic would be a lot safer. However, this doesn't seem to be what will occur...
I had one question. For those who watched last season, remember in the last episode someone called that woman, told her to begin "Plan B", or something like that, and then she went and shook the President's hand and gave him that disease? Was there supposed to be any future significance to that?
Anyway, the Chappelle kill was pretty brutal but I felt bad for him in the end, 24 has a way of making you go from hating people, to sympathizing with them (See: the guy who crashed the helicopter last season, name is slipping my mine, and Gael).
Can't wait for tonight!

Good question, I was wondering that myself. That was the same woman who was in the very first episode of the first season. Hottie! I wonder what happened with her. Was weird because last season as you said the last episode, she shakes his hand and his hand gets all knarly. I think I remember they brought it up at the beginning of this season, but didn't explain much. Maybe that chick works for the guy who has the virus? Maybe that was part of the virus?

they lost me early this season after two great ones. That virus buy at the salazar ranch just started to take too damn long. Like they were making it up as they went. I havn't checked in since.

Could be..she has yet to make an appearance this season.
Although, as any 24 fan knows...every boss has a boss.

Last night's ep was awesome. Saunders is the badass villain of the decade. The guy has America by its nads and all the while he's cool as a cucumber.
There has to be a mole. Saunders killed his number two, which means he couldn't have been that important to him. I think it's Chloe. She's the most annoying person on the show, and she's rubbing everyone the wrong way. Either that, or the producers planted her to distract from the real mole.
The preview for next week looks excellent. Palmer's screwed. I knew Sherry had something up her sleeve. Can't wait.
P.S. Did anyone check Sylvia Imports?

haha nice. I tried checking that URL last week but there was nothing there. Yea last episode was awesome. This season really kicks ass, the suspense is really tight. 4 more episodes left and I can't wait to see what happens.

Sorry I'm so late on this one, I've been really busy and had to tape it. Was a great episode, glad to see Saunders losing his cool somewhat, but the end of the episode walk down the street he did made up for that.
About that site, who do you think really owns it?
