Contact deviantART Admin?
Hey guys ~
A lot of you hang out over at deviantART so I thought I would put up a flag and see if I could get someone to salute.
My question is...Does anyone know how to contact any of the admin staff or moderators at deviantART?
I tried to join the other day and it seems my IP has been mistakenly banned. I need to contact them and get it sorted out, but I can't find any links that will put me in touch with them. Apparently you need a deviantART account even to access the help section.
Any help greatly appreciated

I don't think it'd do any good. My old IP was banned for two years... when I finally switched IP's I inquired about that and was told they can't change it. Makes you mad doesn't it? I was sure mad.
*edit: Change all those IP's to ISP.
Now that I see you said IP... do you mean IP or ISP?

Well, it's certainly disappointing to say the least, if that is the case. How did you get in touch with them to ask, though? I can't find a single way to contact them.
Thanks for the info.

I just went to recheck and you're right, it's actually my ISP that was banned. It listed my IP so I made an assumption. Below is a quote from the page that is displayed when I try to join.
If you feel that you are receiving this in error, this is most likely due to the misbehaviour of someone else that uses the same ISP as you.
It's hard to believe they would ban everyone from a particular ISP...I don't know how many thousands of people they would be blocking out. It was my understanding that only a certain IP range was banned in most circumstances. If this is the case then I would think you could narrow down the range to exclude me and still keep out whoever they were trying to ban in the first place.

Since I, myself, wasn't banned, when I switched ISP's it let me on and I posted on the help forum.

Yea, there's nothing you can do about that then, other then hunt down the bastard who got your ISP banned.

Yes somtimes ISP do get banned, and yea i can agree that its shame when it happens. But its only a last resort, and im sure if $dygel or the rest of the admins could do it in any other way they would.
Yea, ISP bannings are still in being used. I think they're working on a way to whitelist accounts so that even in an ISP ban, innocent accounts can still access the site. But until then they've gotta ISP ban the abusive ones

I got banned, is there anything I can do?
You can contact the HelpDesk and state your case for unbanning. Don't expect that it *will* get you unbanned though.
Note also, being abusive towards the helpdesk won't do your case any favours

rushvision: Try using a proxy server to access the site. It will be a bit slower but that should bypass the ip banning problem. even a web based proxy should do it webproxy
thats wierd that they ban an entire isp's list of subnets. Ive never heard of a site doing that before. seems a bit harsh.
hope this helps

Hi, the reply is back...
Tell them to/Please pay closer attention to the second sentence.
If you feel you are recieving this in error, it is most likely due to the misbehavior of someone else using your ISP.
Someone else in his area using the same ISP he does misbehaved enough to warrant an IP range ban, blocking anyone in that area using that ISP from making a new account. These are generally lifted after a month or two.
