Totally, there are just those people who don't want to sit down and figure it out the hard way, and they know that they can't ask for help because then someone will say that there is no way in hell that they did tat. Now the so called hacker is stuck foreever and the Flash community has prevailed. Cheers, Steve

Hey everybody. Unfortuneatly, I just found this prog that makes a "protect from import" swf able to be imported. I haven't tried it, nor plan to, but it's there.

There is a link on http://www.parsite.com at the bottom left. I suggest you chew this guy out!...or not.

    One legitimate reason...

I was going to post a cry for help when I found this thread; I lost an important .fla file during a hardware upgrade, and all I have left is the .swf file. I too am all for protecting intellectual property, but I was hoping to get some assistance to rescue many weeks of Flash work!

    Help... please?

I've red many stupid comments on the web, but this thread has some of the most stupid ones.

    1. Not everyone is a Hacker, some people just want to learn, test, and so on.
    2. The percentage of people INTERESTED in "your files" is probably close to 0 (zero), and definetely lower than the people interested for other non illegal reasons, and to those, you are simply denying the chance to proceed with their work/project.

    3. in few decades you will be dead, like every other human, if not before. And no one will still care about the files you wanted to "protect so bad". But in fact, they will care about the fact that they couldn't proceed with their work because of you fears.

    4. Hackers always find ways, that's their job. They don't come here asking for advices, since they take it as a challange, and asking would be like cheating.
    5. Someone is gonna say it anyway, and again, you are just deying others to be able to work on their projects.

In my case, for example, i need to unlock an SWF of a videogame that has full modding community, and i'm just reworking an existing mod that is free to be modified with consense of the author.

But it doesn't let me change the Font.

Now tell me, how is this supposed to "damage your files"?

And even if someone had a different porpoise, they need to find out who you are, where you keep your files and so on.

In the meantime, me and many other people reading can't proceed because fear ate your brain with age.
