KoolMoves is on the top (again) !
Probably my best shot on 2004: DOOM Reloaded
http://necromanthus.com/Games/ShockWave/doom.html
Game Control Panel ===> KoolMoves v4.4 !
what's new for demo v0.5 :
- two weapons (pistol & shotgun)
- new sounds
- improved world behaviours
- improved engine (more than 30 FPS on entry-level machines !)
- file size : 264 KB only !
The first enemy is comming soon ...
notes:
- ShockWave 10 plugin is required
- DirectSound is required to get best sound effects
cheers

Several displaying bugs were reported for ATI Radeon VideoCards.
If you own Radeon 7000 - 9800, please take a snapshot and email me the JPG file.
Any feedback would be appreciated.
Thanks

Thanks JOE,
I need to know your Vcard drivers (Catalyst x.xx.xx)

I use the driver only, no control panel. 6.14.10.6436
Catalyst 4.4

Thanks.
Radeon 9100 is DirectX 8.1 compatible only.
But I presume that you have DX 9 installed. Is true ?

That's correct. Direct X 9.0b

This seems a good opportunity to bring this up. A person with this configuration -- Windows XP SP1, DirectX9, NVidia latest WHQL drivers (motherboard + video card), no other applications open -- had problems with KoolMoves crashing on resizing the timeline. Is it obvious why that should be happening?
I tested it with my configuration with Opera and Internet Explorer open at the same time using a large animation and see no problem.

KoolMoves was tested on 3 systems:
- Celeron / P4 / P4
- 256MB / 512MB / 1GB
- NVIDIA VCards (MX440,FX5200 and FX5950)
- DirectX 8.1 / 9.0 / 9.0
- WinXP-Pro SP1 (with all hot-fixes installed)
NO crashes at all !
I remember that I had one movie with over 6000 frames !
In my opinion, the main problem in case of crashes are the resident programs (AntiVirus programs,FireWalls, etc).
Another source of troubles are those STUPID Browser ActiveX controls (plugins). These plugins are full of bugs !
Also,a clean system (no registry mess, not too many shared DLLs,etc) is required to get best results.

I forgot to mention that he has a AMD processor. Do you think that matters?

Not at all.
With a powerfull cooler, Athlon processors are working just fine.
As I said before, ask him about the resident programs.

10 points (in Europe) or A+ (in US) for KoolMoves.
http://www.koolmoves.com (new layout).
Of course, BOB has nothing to do with all of these ... LOL

Hmm, not bad, I was expecting it to be completely done in flash. That and I would have made all the text a dynamic text for a cleaner look. Nice to see a new layout.

Indeed.
And talking about the other competitors (the latest poll),let's see:
http://www.koolmoves.com
http://www.flash.com (Macromedia redirecting)
http://www.swift3d.com
http://www.swishmax.com
Result: KoolMoves and Swift3D are the winners.

Doom Reloaded
Fantastic work! I only ever got as far as a 3d maze with monsters in before I gave up .. http://www.psychicparrot.com/games/zombieliter.htm
If you need any Shockwave stuff / help (although looking at Doom Reloaded I don't think you'll need any tech help!) drop me a mail!
On the subject of running Koolmoves / crashing, I have an AMD Athlon XP 2700+ 512mb WinXP Pro DirectX9 Nvidia latest drivers on a GeForceFX5200 and Koolmoves hardly ever drops out ... admittedly, there are a few things I know not to do just incase (playing with the internal viewer seems to bomb out alot so I use the "play in web browser" instead ... and running 7 or 8 apps in the background sometimes causes problems un-suprisingly!!) ... on the whole, KM runs really stable.

Don't give up !
You're a talented guy (or girl: that chick-parrot...LOL)
All you need is to "dig deeper" inside of LINGO (you have to improve the game engine).
About future 3D projects ... I'll keep you in touch.
Now about KoolMoves and stability ...
As I said many times before, is a matter of resident programs and (bad) memory management.
Too many stupid programs (messengers,pop-up killers, addware and spyware apps, buggy antivirus or firewall, and so on) may kill the host system.
In other words: if you wanna be happy (and healthy), keep your house clean !
cheers

Well tbh most of the projects I get for Shockwave are 2d, so I don't get enough time in Shockwave 3d anymore ...
Last time I checked, I was a guy ... yep, still am (thanks Necroneconomical! I can see I'll have to change my name to Shirley on here or something!!)
Definately agree with the 'house cleaning' stuff .. trying to avoid junk (things that sit in the taskbar and pretend to do good stuff whilst just using up precious system resources) is a very good idea. I actually have Koolmoves open now alongside 8 other apps with no problems ... in the taskbar I have Messenger and Winamp so I guess that makes 10!
Computers are for life, not just for christmas!

ShockWave and 2D is a bad move.
(I had many "fights" with Director team on this subject).
ShockWave can't compete with Flash on the 2D side.
But is able to become the Online 3D leader ...
Talking about changing names,a good option would be maleparrot

Hey Necro, maybe you haven't learned the english word for this but if you remove parrot from psychicparrot your left with psychic. Psychic means fortune teller or able to see into the future, something like that.

I know that, but psycho-chick-parrot sounds better.
And if you remove "pulse" from "flashpulse" you'll get a tasty piece of meat, isn't it ?
ha ha ha
