Only macromedia software use the .fla extension. If you know what the .fla is or does, just recreate it in KoolMoves.

Relaxing
If you send me the fla i will make it into a swf for you. Unless it is flash mx 2004.
Any programming language is at its best before it is implemented and used.

There are several tools (Not editors) that use the FLA format. Most of them are SWF 2 FLA converters though. AVA Imperator comes to mind and there are others.

As long as they didn't infringe any patents (No Video conversion in the software becuase of the patents involved), violate the EULA on MM Flash itself (Ilegally Reverse Engineer Flash), Violate MM copyright (Eg; get the MM Flash Source code somehow and use it)... to the best of my knowldge as long as they didn't do any of the above then it should be legal.
Many softwares do convert from one file format to another. MS Word can convert to the WP formats and WP can convert MS to WP and back again to MS Word. Another example is Open/Star Office able to convert to and from MS Word.
I'm sure that MM isn't thrilled about it though.
--Also wanted to add that I don't see how they could have made that tool without doing one of the things which would make it ilegal. They, Imperator GbR, claim to have done so.

As far as I know, converting from SWF to FLA is an illegal operation.
