    Favorite rollercoaster?

Scroll down if you don't have time to read my jibba-jabba...

Just arrived back from a fun filled day at Six Flags New England. While there, I got to experience the infamous Superman ride. Apparently, a man with cerebral palsy died after he was thrown from the ride. It was shut down and everything, but that didn't stop people from riding it once it reopened.

It was the first ride we went on, and it took me and my friends about 1 1/2 hours just to get on the damn thing. But I have to say; it was worth it. I used to think my favorite ride was the Montu at Busch Gardens, but this one tops it. It goes 80 MPH, it's a total of 5500 feet long, lasts 2 1/2 minutes, and drops you 230 feet at about a 89 degree angle at the very beginning. Exhilirating.

Also, there were some other cool rides too. One called Screamer or something, where you're just basically locked into a chair and launched 200 feet high, then dropped after a 10 second delay from that height. That one messes with you a bit.

    Superman:

    Scream:

So yeah; what's the best ride you've ever been on?

I hate rollercoasters. I was somehow convinced to go on a super rickety one at valley fair and it only confirmed how much I dislike it. I went on the power tower as well (looks like your scream). That was ok, but I'm terrafied if heights and being shot 150 ft into the air with my legs dangling was very scary. My eyes were closed for quite some time. I peeked out near the top and got the shivers.

my all-time favorite will forever be The Beast (Kings Island)
i spent so much time riding this classic as a child...

this coaster is special, and almost seems alive...and a bit angry.
wicked underground/tunnel turns AND rising way high out of the woods.
all wood, all speed, all beast

still the fastest wooden rollercoaster ever built (i think?)

Ah, these boys is all swelled up. So this was earlier...getting set to trade. Then, woooaaah differences.

hehe last summer i went to six flags magic mountain... Scream and Goliath were probably my fav's (and scream was pretty much brand-new then, too). I like 'em, seems like they last about 20 seconds and then you get off to find that 3 minutes have passed.

The indiana Jones in Euro Disney-Paris

yeah it's not the wildest but the fact that it goes backward is neat

you see everything and when it goes up you're practically dangling in the air from your back only

El-ig, I went in that one 3 times or something, the 2nd time it stopped right before the loop It's not fun to sit the wrong way when it has stopped

Have you taken space mountain at euo disnay? It is just amazing! Me and my brother wanted to take it, and my dad also wanted to come a long, so my mum said "well, ok, how bad can it be?". The thing is that its all inside a dome, so you can't see what is happening. But then in the queue there were notices about bad backs, pregnancy and so on and my mum got more and more worried but she couldn't turn back then. So we finaly get to the track and step in.The first thing that happens is that they drive you up hill, but then stop you once you almost at the bottom. Then they shoot you up the hill, inside a tunnel that looks like a cannon, and you can see the hole at then end coming closer and closer and right before you reach it you drop down. Well anyways, on the trip up they took this picture:

Good golly, I hate those things; used to like 'em when I was a tyke, but I eventually developed a sense of equilibrium and they just play hell with my sense of balance. Make me sick as a dog now (the girlfriend loves them, though... )

I tried to get over my fear right out of school, so my roomates and I went to King's Dominion and I rode everything but the Alpenghist, one of those hanging-coasters. I didn't get sick, and I actually enjoyed the Apollo's Chariet enough to go on it 3-4 times (that's the one Fabio got his broken nose from a duck on...)

    *edit*
BTW, Ihoss, that's the face I make... =^_^=

I think you meant Busch Gardens instead of King's Dominion.

They had a coaster named drachenfire that they had to take down. Neck injuries I believe. It was alot of fun if you were big enough and could take a pounding.

    X-Flight at Geauga Lake.

One of the few lie-down roller coasters in the world.
I really enjoy forgetting. When I first come to a place, I notice all the little details. I notice the way the sky looks. The color of white paper. The way people walk. Doorknobs. Everything. Then I get used to the place and I don't notice those things anymore. So only by forgetting can I see the place again as it really is.

The first upside down rollercoaster I ever went on was about a year ago, in Disney. I tried the Hulk, and now I'm addicted.

I wish it was longer though

I enjoyed the "Incredible Hulk" at Universal in Orlando, Florida, USA. Sorry I don't have any photos. I am still wanting to try "Superman" at Six Flags in Agawam, Mass, USA. My brothers said it was dope, but a man died on it a few weeks back. Not too sure if has reopened?

IHOSS, I sure hope "Space Mountain" in Euro is better than the one in Florida.

ULTIMA DESIGNS, that looks very cool.

I've never been to Alton Towers, but I've heard that it is really nice - especially that vertical drop coaster Oblivion.

Superman at six flags new england is the coaster of all coasters.....man when its taking you up slowly and you look out over the lake ITS KILLER, the suspense is almost unbearable. Hands down the best coaster in America.

The rides at Islands of Adventure in Florida are great too, specifically the Hulk (which was used in the filming of House on Haunted Hill) and the 3d Spiderman ride.

And since i realize that everything ive said so far has already been mentioned i leave you with this tidbit, always get a seat on the back of the coaster train, you get more ride, especially on the first drop....think about it.

    Oh yea, Storm Runner.

    0 to 72 in 2 seconds.

Loved Montu at Busch Gardens, Tampa (Florida). That and the Kumba. Gwazi was OK as a wooden coaster comeback. Inverted rides are where it's at, lol. Except for that pirate ship that goes upside down, especially when it stays suspended upside down.

Also, all the coasters at Kennywood are great. A lot of fun wooden ones there. I wonder if they still have the Jack Rabbit.
