Fade out before scene transition? advanced?

I want to run a fade out for the contents on my page before I transition to the next scene but I want to use one movieclip and not have to set up multiple "possibilities" in my timeline.

    ie:

you have these buttons on the homepage:

    home, services, products, contact, etc.

to have home's content fade before moving to the next scene I would create 4 different animations in my movie.

    home to services
    home to products
    home to contact
    home to etc.

four isn't bad, but when I have 14 possibilities it gets a little crazy. Is there any way I can do this with a variable name or something?

    Thanks!

First off don't use Scenes, use external files (loadMovie).
And for the transitions:http://www.kirupa.com/developer/mx2004/transitions.htm (using external files)
