It wasn't my optimism, it was by ability to correct others on petty little things.

I could write you some bad poetry and wear lots of black, if you'd like.

d1... just hope you get a cute stewardess, flirt like your life depended on it (it doesn't) and join the mile-high club.

Yeah, fair enough - just thought it was funny, to drag on the ol' 'stewardess is a fine 'ho' stereotype.

Things were so much simpler in those days.

    *muffled bumps and thumps*

What is going on behind that 1st class curtain???

if it makes you feel any better an airliner hitting the water is kinda like a watermelon dropped from the 20th floor and then hitting concrete. or put another way, even toothless fish come to the picnic.

My first flight was on a prop-jet, headed for bootcamp in the 60's. It was OK, and at night. My second flight was on a 707 headed back to San Diego after a leave. We went through a storm and I was sitting over the wings, which were flapping like a Goose headed South. That one landed in LA, then I had to get on another to San Diego. It was a 727, and I was sitting back by the engines. On landing, I looked out and back to see if I could see those clamshells they use to slow down with. When they revved up, a huge panel on the outside of the engine came off.

I've flown since then, but I always get drunk before getting on the plane, then have the 2 allowed Scotch and waters as soon as we're up.

Don't be fooled. Airlines are flying trash now, cause they can't afford to keep it in top shape. Pilots are drunk half the time, and inspectors are paid off to look the other way. I'll never fly again.

I absolutely love to fly! I'm supposed to go flying tomorrow with my uncle in his Yak 52. But only if the weather's good, and it's calling for rain. I soooooo hope the weather's clear, because this will be my first time flying in this type of plane and I've been really looking forward to it.

    The weather's bad today....

So I don't get to go flying, but my uncle promised next weekend we'd go so I'm really really really hoping it doesn't rain next weekend.

It wouldn't bother me at all to fly in something like that. It's just those big ones with questionable upkeep and pilots that I won't fly in. For my 12th birthday, my Dad bought me a ride in a P-51. To this day, I can remember every single second of it.

I got to go last weekend, it was my first time flying a Yak, and it was very cool. We did some rolls and stuff, I can't wait to go again!
