Best way to get aliased text?

I'd like to have aliased text in a movie I'm creating with FLash MX 2004, but it seems difficult to get it to work exactly.

For example I'll choose arial 12pt and choose the "alias text" option, but it still seems as though the text needs to be aligned on a whole integer XY coordinate. SO it'll look great at X:12 Y:30, but not X:12.1 Y:30.2. This is a pain as a lot of the text I'd like aliased is nested inside many movieclips, and I don't want to make sure that each and every one is aligned perfectly.

Am I missing something obvious here? Is there an easier way to ensure alised text every time?

No, and no.

It's a pain in the butt, but that's about what you got to do. Or break it apart twice.
