Glow In, Glow Out Button

I would like to create a button with text that glows red when moused over and fades back to it's normal color when moused off, and stays the glow color on click. Can someone help illustrate the best way to do this or post a sample file for me to look at? THANKS!

Try this... Would need to add the clicked state.

that's prety much what i want but with text instead of an image. with text i assume the setup would be different. how would you suggest getting a hit state in there. i basically want it to stay on the hit state until another menu option is clicked.

Have an overlapping movie clip (holding 1 single frame which would be the glow state...) appear over the button, and made invisible again when another button is pressed.

couldn't i make that movie clip masked by the text so that when it's alpha would increase it would look like the button is glowing in and then have the alpha decrease when you mouse off it. i'm not sure how to set this up but i can visulaize.
