SWF File Size?
Hi All,
I created a site in SwishMax, and the exported SWF file is just under 1MB.
The animation is very choppy when viewed on the Web. Can this be related to the file size? My images are PNGs, and fairly big...I can compress them to GIFs, but want to know if that would help before I go through the effort.
Thanks.

The link that you gave bekow doesn't work. You could certainly compress the images - try using the jpg compression built into Swish, but it would be nice to see your swi file (attach it if it is not too large, link to it if it is) to see if there are other issues such as needing a preloader or movie speed (frames per second) that are the problem. I often make swf files that exceed 15MB and once they are loaded, using a preloader, there is no choppiness.
Cheers,
Flick

Hey Flick,
I purchased a swishsite as a learning exercise and I'm trying to recreate it another way.
Click the link below to retrieve the file I am trying to recreate. Everything works like the swishsite #14, and I even added a variation to the 'home' button. The only problem is it very choppy when viewed on the Web. I even reloaded the original swishsite when my was choppy and the original performed smoothly.
Check out the attached file and let me know if you uncover any errors or can figure out why is runs so choppy.
Thanks in advance!

Many of the images are still 100% jpeg's, try to re-compress these to about 70%, which is still pretty good quality and it will reduce your .swf (377 k's at the moment - way too big) considerably.
