[open source] old but working fighting game open source!

i don't think u can get marmottes open source, he says he's lost it and the links are all to old
i'm sorry dr Warm, you missunderstood me: my open source isn't lost, only old... some files of the game i was creating are lost, that's true, but the open sources are intact

ok, those files are very old now (maybe 2 years already?), and there are A LOT of improvments to make (i'm especially not happy with the combo system, but you can find better methods in those recent fighting game posts), but basically it's working very well. sure, it's possible to do a lot better, but it's still good for all the demand about fighting games these days.

...and no, before you ask, i'm not going to post an update of that open source including all that is missing (scrolling etc...), and i will probably not update the code itself to my improved AS knowledge i acquired since i created that open source...

    the open source is here

oh and please, try to learn from those files! never only copy/paste, or simply change the graphics and nothing more...

    anyway, enjoy!

If our body is a clock ticking away and if while we experience all that this world has to offer time has still continued to pass, are we living or just experiencing a slow death?

Thank you! Although fighting games are not on my To-Do list, I'm sure I'll learn alot from it, as I did from your art-based RPG open source (although I've been converted to tiled-based now ).

ah i see i misread one of ur posts, i thought u said u lost the fla! Thnx for posting this here, hopefully i can learn from it. BTW i don't think copy/pasting code is such a bad idea, i did it when i first started off, and then when it didn't work how i wanted it to, changed it or remade it.

Tile-based is great but all the coding was a bit daunting at first for a flash rookie like me.

I thought I'd seen it at gotoAndPlay.it but can't find it.

    Anyway here it is:

well, my open source of the art based version of zelda is (should be) at gogotandplay.it

anyway, thanks for the attached file :-)

and yep, using a tile based approach is not easy at all when you are not too familiar with AS
