I just played MANCALA SNAILS in Flashkit arcade and I am truly impressed at the presentation, and quality of the work. We should all strive to achieve that level of quality and detail, including also, user-friendly features like in-game tutorials. I'm impressed.

Nice game it is and all, perhaps the best seen of any others hosted here at this site. But as far as 'we should all strive to achieve that level of quality and detail'. You make what you wanna make, you design what you wanna design. If its satisfactory to you, hey, thats all that should count, regardless of the appeal thats so greatly fasinated by others work. Its like, I wanna be me, I don't wanna be anyone else ok.

Either you have no business sense, or you don't want to make a living off your games. ;-)

I agree that its nicely done and nicely presented.
Its not the only proffessionally done game in the arcade - there are others (3d cubes for example).

Sure lots of games are poorly presented but that doesnt mean you should trash the games - some people are building game to learn or for pure fun and might not want or need to go the extra mile to present it well.

as far as high quality presentation goes

Hmmm...all that thing start to sound like that 2advanced thing. I agree mwith xBlood but also with Ray Beez. Acheiving a certain quality is good. But only if you do it for you. If your Flash stuff is O.K the way you did it, i dont think you should try to improve it just cuz you didn't get that Mancala thing qality.

Comparing, not copying. Acheiving not paranoing.

I agree with Ray Beez 100%
Games like mancala snails set the standard for PROFESSIONAL flash game design. If you are designing games for money, or hope to do so, you need to showcase a certain production value. If you are a hobbyist, then do whatever makes you happy- but the idea that all that matters in professional design is whether or not the designer is happy is the reason why the web is (no offense) filled with sub-par crap pages being passed for professional web design.

Achieving a certain quality is imperative, especially if you do it for money.
