Flash Incompetent
a bunch of questions...
alright, starting to work on a new website and just some fundamental things need to be worked out. I have a potential idea or at least the beginning of an idea here: http://www.geocities.com/ihrimtest/potentialidea.jpg
now, there are a few questions:
one i want this to be just the background image, and I'm realizing on different resolutions it doesnt fit perfectly... a site that does what i want in terms of the beginning or at least the background is www.pixelranger.com the long rectangle goes from bottom to top and u would never have to scroll left or right for excess image, does anyone know how to create this type of background?
Secondly, if u click enter on the pixel ranger site, there is a background and flash that from what I understand, which could be completely wrong sits ontop of the background and imitates it so it can then morph the background... is that the case? if it is how would I be able to line up the background and the flash properly to create this effect?
hopefully I stated my questions clearly but if I have not please ask for clarification as I really do want to find answers to my problems... Thanks in advance!

It looks like the answers to your questions can be easily answered with tables and/or nested tables.
This is a good link that will (at least) start to explain nested tables to you.
The flash piece is embedded in the html. HTML is not really a good way to "layout" data. Thus, the use of tables to create colums/rows of info that is layed out in an easy to read manner. (think about an excel spreadsheet table)
Play around with the source of the html you find on the pixelranger site. Replace his images/flash with your own to see the results. A little trial and error will go a long way on this one.
