Somewhere I read (probably in an O'Rielly Book, possibly "Flash Hacks" by Sham Bhangal) a trick involving an operator, and in complete vagueness once again I think it was the "%" operator.

There was a dead handy use for this operator, it involved measuring the size of an object for a "hit-test".

I could use this tip for a project I'm working on, and thought maybe, just maybe, this might ring a bell with someone.
