something strange taking over my desktop...

Poker, Bingo, Website Hosting, Card Games, Casino Online and Printer Cartiges? There are these shortcuts on my desktop that have recently appeared that I cannot seem to be rid of.

I highlight and press delete, no action. I rick-click... no pop up menu... I go through my computer but they are not visible... WHATS THE GO!!

did you check your background, I used to do that with my friends, changing their backgrounds with screen captures

if it's not that, and you can actually move them and/or open them

try seeing where their base original folder leads to, through opening the desktop folder

    or

if you're on Win2k/XP try looking at the documents and settings folder of the administrator, he might have added them or installed them, in that case they'll reflect on all other users -I'm assuming you're not the administrator or you're logged on with a different account-

    hope that helped

Ohh and check for penguins, they're known to do that

    services

look in msconfig see if they r running as a service.

also in explorer show hidden files and folders then look in windows folder for them.and delete when in safe mode.

also empty recycle folder afterwards. then reboot

It is selectable, but not right-clickable. if you look closely you will see that i have the desktop window open to the right of the screen... they do not appear there. I am also the sole user....

OK Can you create a new account for a new user, if when you log on they are still there then you got some Bug stuck in your Registry, I'll then suggest SpyBot S&D

I have exactly the same problem, they appear on my desktop but I can't right click or move them.

Is it msn plus? If I just delete that will they disappear?
It also makes a blue bar at the bottom of my screen when i open interenet explorer and it wont let me get rid of it.

Should I just delete msn plus then re install it?

I just fixed the same problem on my com. its LOP, and yes it comes from installing messenger plus. just go to LOP's website here, click help, and download the uninstall file. Strangely, my ad-aware and spybot S&D didnt detect it.

Because LOP provide an uninstaller, it's not technically spyware I believe.
