flash video in version 5 player?

i've got flash mx 2004 pro. i'm making a website for my company and i want to put flash video on the site (i'll actually be using the video extension download kit for dreamweaver) . they block all flash players past version 5 so i will have to publish as ver 5 from mx 04 pro (well maybe i won't be using flash, but just dreamweaver, but i guess it will be in the flash video format). will a user still be able to see and control the video if the latest player they have is 5? i really hope so...thanks.

Flash video is only supported in Flash 6 in and above.

Any, but it is recommended that you update to v.6.72 as there were some fixes to the video capabilities.

Right, 6.029 had some issues with .flv playback.

With flash player 5 you could fake the video with jpg sequences. You could still do that if you want. Export from quicktime pro to jpg sequeces and import them. Then import the audio and you're set.

    Good luck.

    Hi.
If you want to publish as Flash 5 you can check out our software Flix which exports a version of Flash video that plays in any Flash player version 3 and higher along with MX SWF and MX FLV video.
Also, to play MX SWF video you need at least Flash 6. To play FLV video in progressive download you need at least Flash 7 (but you can play FLVs in Flash 6 if you are streaming them).
