    Please check out my layout

The site has no content yet, I just wanted some feedback on the layout and basic design before I carried on. Just let me know if you think it looks alright or not and what you would change about it. Im planning on adding more background pics in a similar style that are either chosen at random or eache user can choose their own. What do you guys think of that?

    site

I want as many opinions and comments as possible even if they're bad so don't be shy.

    Thanks

    "even if they're bad..." - here I go :P

You really should use better css in the menu's (check my signature, and my newest site, I like - modesty aside - my css menu code in that site), it'll look a lot better.

I think that for now the layout looks very good, but it is too white, and too plain. If you want to give it a strong first impact, then the vertical side stripes should be full black, for example. Or any full color, as long as you keep using it here and there in the center layout (the menu for starters). Maybe a light grey.
Also, you could use small gradients to make the transition between the vertical bars - it'll bring some depth to the desing. Nothing too flashy, of course.

    hope this helps

that does help ac, thanks a lot for taking the time to reply. it gives me something to look at on where to go next.

i'm not bad at css but i've been getting cross platform issues when i've used it in the past so i'm a little weary about using. maybe i'll take a bit longer and work a bit harder to get it working.
