Glint effect in KoolMoves?

Was wondering how you guys would approach this often-used effect in KM. Here's what I was able to come up with after playing with it a liitle while. The limitation on the way I've done it is that the glint and the background have to be essentially the same color. Is there a way to do a mask in KM?

I assume what you did is make the glint the background color with a lot of transparency and put the glint on top. That is the only way I know of at the moment to do this.

Thanks. You're right about how I did it; I guess it would have helped if I'd said that in the post.

Here's one with a hand-made mask. If the letters are blocky, it isn't all that time consuming to make one that covers 90% of what you need covered for a decent effect.

I did a letter fade effect but the principle is the same. Convert the letters to shapes with points and then play with the graidient. You don't need a mask then. This is more time consuming though than your method.

Ahhhh, gradients...

Okay, I did this in just about 5 minutes to get the idea. It's not very precise and has a glitch at the end in terms of smoothness, but I think I see how this could work.

yup,

and you can change the hardness on the edge of those gradients and the direction.
