    Vobbo - Video Blogs

Vobbo is a site we've recently finished for video messages. It includes a myspace/livejournal-like video community, but it's really designed for people who want to send video messages to friends and familiy, include video on their own sites/blogs, or who just like seeing themselves talk.

We do know there's a few incompatibilities with some operating systems (MacOSX users with iSights, we're working on it). If you do happen to find huge bugs, feel free to let us know, and we'll try to make it worth your time.

    Hi Jeff2A,

This is a well designed site and interesting concept. I would like to try it out, but to tell you the truth I am not currently web-cam enabled.

Do you have any hardware or software recommendations for me?

I guess off the top of my head I would like something fairly light fast, decent res and perhaps wireless capability (so I am not staring into my monitor all the time). My primary OS is XP Pro SP1.

    Thanks.

In the FAQ ( http://www.vobbo.com/frequently-asked-questions.php ) we recommend two webcams that we know work - however, neither are wireless.

The QuickCam Communicate STX ( http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/re...SIN/B0007NIJBC ) is relatively cheap and creates 'decent' video. Alternatively, the QuickCam Pro 4400 ( http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/re...SIN/B00007FS0J ) is what Shane uses for his videos: http://www.vobbo.com/user/shane/entry/152

We definitely recommend XP Pro + IE - there are a few known issues with other platforms that we're diligently addressing.
