    [pimp][fps][demo] renegades

All graphics and design are temporary. The game is based
on a flashanimation named - surprisingly enough - Renegades.
(You can see the trailer here.)

The same guy is working on the graphics for the game. Now click here and give
    me your fps

Pretty smooth, what type of scrolling engine are you using?

What happened to good old up/dwon/left/right controls though!

    18fps on 900MHz

adit_ya_sharma: 8 fps? :s That's bad. Would you mind telling me what kind of computer you got?

random10122: Thanks, it's a regular gotandStop()-engine for the background (50x50 tiles) and the polygons are drawn with the drawing API (a list with polygons that should be on screen is refreshed once in a while, not very different from Strille's brilliant registerObjectsToAreas function).

What happened to good old up/dwon/left/right controls though!
The game was supposed to be a top-down. Not until recently the graphicsartist suggested to change it to the way it is now (8 dirs for the graphics, seen from the side). But it wouldn't do the engine justice to cut off the freedom of walking in 36 different directions, also the enemy AI was already done so we decided to leave it as it is, although walking in 8 directions would make more sense.
