I am designer not a programmer

I have these eight characters I developed on spec. No one seems to want them, so I am thinking of making a game of my own. But like the title says my actionscripting skills are a little limited.

Where to start heads, hands, bodies and shadows are all separate symbols. I have no idea where to start with an engine. I've been looking around and I was interested in the AI discussion, but it's over my head at this point. I've done some interactive things, but they've been based on buttons, and drop targets.

If someone wants to work with me you can have the characters and credit on the game, if I at least get credit for designing them.



And you let me have some input on the content of the game. I am not a hardcore person, so I'd want to see some humor in it. I'd even design a few gangsta dogs, I was thinking Chihuaha, Rotweiller, american mutt and maybe a poodle, if that would give you ideas.

I can do the backgrounds too, no problem. It's just the programming that gives me a headache.

I'd like to see these little guys duke it out somewhere down the line.

I am not asking for something for nothing, as programmer you would have hold the rights and ability to sell the game. I would hope you'd give me a cut, but hey we can talk.

I have been looking for an artist to work with on my own games, and would definitely be willing to put these characters to use in a small project first if it meant a good relationship with an artist in the long run. I am primarily a coder, though I have in the past done my own graphics, music, and janitorial duties... =)

In fact, I have a game engine that would easily incorporate these characters as-is, if we wanted.

Hey Ego that sounds great. Send me a pm and we can talk. What are you working on right now, as long as it isn't overly violent or explicit, I'd be willing to give you a hand when I am free. I am not a prude, but the really hard core violence and stuff puts me off.
