Yep its a nice thing to be able to use, what are you going to use it for?

Thing that springs to mind is for use with a map.

Only thing that I would change is that if you keep zooming in you go through the char and then the controls are reversed, obviously because youve gone past the 0 mark and inot the -'s.

Like to see it in a game somehow though.
If our body is a clock ticking away and if while we experience all that this world has to offer time has still continued to pass, are we living or just experiencing a slow death?

I'm planning on using it in a sidescrolling game. Have you ever played a console game where you get to a part and the camera just naturally moves into place to let you see a certain section. Right now, sidescrollers stop you from making certain types of levels because you cant see off-screen until you scroll more, for a platform game, you might need to be able to see the jumps ahead, or dangers and stuff, for those sections I can make the camera zoom out and let you see exactly whats going on. You can also use this camera in a first person shooter. All you have to do is put a startDrag code on it and it becomes the Curser, and then you can have sniper rifles zoom in with different levels of zoom, etc.

Good idea with the camera zoom. Yes, a pacman type game where you can jump platforms would be great and the more varied the levels, the better. The one thing I never liked about the original pacman is it never changed the levels very much once you cleared the board. A change in maze design and colour for example.

"you need to give the FLA file"

If you have to bump a year old thread, you could at least use the word "please", that is if you couldn't just pm the guy directly and ask for it.

Sorry, my younger brother (who is also into flash) posted that question while searching for a game engine (I didn't log off my account). Consequently, It made me sound like a total jackass.

    Sorry 'bout that.

The point of the swf is that you can zoom in and out (admittedly only about 2 lines of code, not exactly impressive). The collision engine isn't the important part.

And damnit, what is it with people trying to revive this thread?
