Google still King?
I use to love google, back when it popularity was simply through word of mouth.
Maybe I'm taking it's capabilities for granted but I'm under the impression that while a lot of good things come out of google (gmail), a lot of crap also comes out of google, video, in all is craptastic game video captures.
Google searches also seem to dilute in terms of content and I'm forced to pay money so that I can have acess to more 'scholarly' articles. It just seems that if you pay for information the information becomes a lot more richer and comprehensive as opposed to people who don't profit.
any thoughts?

No!
Yes, the saying is, "You get what you pay for." Is that so hard to understand?

Google's avowed mission is to be "the repository of all human knowledge". What you find is in direct relation to how you search. Since it's a database of everything, refining your search should get you better results.

I think of google as When ever I use to get something 'free', like finding a dime in the couch cushion, I ask myself what if I had all the dimes that people lost? I would be rich!
Google grants that wish but instead of material goods, google serves information but it's also 'free' information. And google is not a repository of every information, regardless of what its mottos is. I'm sure microsoft's motto is 'taking over the word one windows box at a time'. Whethere microsoft is successful is purely subjective and ad hoc. A universal access to collected journals, medical databases and close access to textbooks is still more penchant and respectful to a subject matter than a refined google search will ever produce.

What is all this crying about?
If you don't like google...get your ass in the library like we all used to have to do.
OR wait for google to finish their library database(I hope it actually gets off the ground more)

It's called copyright. Google can index all it want put can't grant you access to content that the owner doesn't want you to have.
Wanna read an article in an industry journal? Pay up. Nothing new there.
