    Sony mp3 Walkman

I didn't see this posted here, maybe I missed it.

The new MP3 Walkman from sony is out next month. The screen rocks and it seems to be better value than the ipod, in the UK at least.

Only bad thing I see, as usual with Sony, is their insistence that you use proprietary software with it, you can' just drag and drop files from it, you need their 'connect' software.

Comes out in the UK November 7.

It does have a cool screen... but their software puts me off... drag and drop would be sooooo much easier...

What sizes is it available in? as in GBs? and hows the battery life?

6gig and 20gig, the 20gig seems to be about £170 from what I can see. Not sure about the battery life, you certainly can't trust the manufacturer, but they're pushing the battery life as a feature.

I don't see how they can hope to be that successful without allowing drag and drop, no matter how cool it is, people hate being forced into using something, especially when it's something they've never heard of before.

I never used connect myself (or a Sony MP3 player), but the new walkman cell phones support AAC and AAC+, Apples file format, so maybe they someday allow to upload directly from iTunes.

From what I've read, CONNECT will feature a new drag and drop function inside. Yeah, it's still short of just using Explorer to drag and drop though.

Why would they let you use Explorer when they have no ability to plaster it with ads to their music store?
