I've redone the layout of my site
http://www.delvarworld.com/
I've posted this site here before, and during the last site check I got a bit frustrated and went off a little. I apologize for that, it was a rough time and web design just doesn't come to me naturally at all.
But I took the advice of the people who replied, namely giving each page a more uniform feel. So I redid all of the tables of the site with a more stylized setup to improve the general quality of the site.
All comments are welcome, happy holidays!

Hmmm. I don't mind the buttons so much, although the forum and animation buttons seem like they need a bigger hitstate.
I like the look of the site.
The thing that would concern me is the lack of purpose. By viewing your home page, I have no clue what you site is all about. To me the main message of a site, it's reason for being needs to smack me in the face on page number one. If it's a portfolio site, say so. If it's an informational site, say so. Whatever it s say so, but in a big bold meaningful way that I can see right off. The small print you had in the text box might have told me what the site was about, but to be honest I do too much searching for info on the web without search for what a site is all about.
The pipes were well done I thought, but again a bit unorganized and with lack of meaning or purpose.
Where's your banner or logo that screams out this is delvarworld a site dedicated to ____________ fill in the blank.
When I say screams out, I guess that may be a bit over the top but it should be apparent.

Well either the title of the first page or a minute's worth of reading in the personal section might help you out But you're right, maybe I'll add some more informational text to the homepage.

I like the buttons impressive 3d work. But it really is unclear what the site is about. That is more content than design...but designwise it is interesting.

Very nice design. I do agree though that I don't know what this site is really about.

up to my .as in code
I generally like it but I have to admit I hate the way the flash menu blanks out (split second white flash) when a selection is made.
Have you tried an iFrame (or even a traditional frameset with borders hidden)to send the subsections to? It would allow you to not reload the menu by not refreshing the page.

Yes, my site used to be a frameset. Believe me, it was far more trouble than it was worth. There's so much extra code you have to worry about in a site for frames, not to mention search engine compatibility.
