    Global gradients

    Is it possible to either:

    1. select multiple layers that contain shape tweened flat colour shapes (with outlines) and apply a gradient to all with one click?

    2. apply a mask that creates a global gradient to all the aforementioned layers?

Some more detail on the project:
Its a multilayered, shape tweening animation that I want to give a 3d effect by applying a gradient to each layer....the problem is i need the fastest way to do it as there isnt just one animation...there is about 70 of the blighters..

unfortunatley the animations do not share a common library - or this would be the obvious place to start experimenting IMO.

    Cheers

You can edit multiple layers by dragging a selection around all the desired elements on the stage (I assume you are using Flash). Just make sure all those frames have keyframes then select them and select a gradient (if it doesn't automatically change then hit one of the selected shapes with the paint bucket).

Not sure exactly what kind of gradient you are talking about, though. A simple gradient might work, but if you are wanting specific shading on individual pieces then you are going to need to do each piece separately.
