Anyone complaining in this thread who doesn't have to use the Notes client on a daily basis can suck it up.

well it's working now... after fiddling around.

I think it had something to do with McAfee Active Shield or something.

So I restored to 2 days ago.

When I restarted it said Active Shield was bad.
So I uninstalled McAfee / ReInstalled McAfee.
I still had the same crash in outlook.

I remembered something too... in McAfee, it says
    'Windows Updates'
Enabled but not the recommended option. Enable

If you click on that, it enables widows updates and you can't disable it

So I went in and set windows updates in the System Menu to 'notify' and don't install.... now the McAfee message is back to what it was before.

Enabled but not the recommended option. Enable

    whatever...

in the process of all of this, my Outlook Search box is now working.

    Thanks.

not an option for those of us who use an Exchange server, i love my Exchange 2003 server. My Windows Mobile phone syncs with it.

    Outlook 2000 does suck...

Unless anyone has a quick way of adding some more advanced junk filters to it without going through the idiot rules 'wizard'.

Outlook 2003 is well worth it, imo. all the same things you are probably used to but improved and more stable.
