    Thanks Natsia, but yeah, I tried that and it doesn't work either. Both middle-clicking and left-clicking links while holding down the Ctrl key result in nothing happening.

    Is your mouse set up properly? I bought a new mouse and the middle button was programmed for 'Next' rather than auto-scroll. Since changing it, the middle click closes tabs or opens links in a new tab.

    So it was definitely an extension conflict. I upgraded to Firefox 1.5.0.1 and have not yet bypassed the version validation on any of my disabled extensions and my Ctrl-click is working again. Now I just have to figure out which one was causing the problem.
