Heya folks! fyi, FlashFoundry is just getting off the ground. The content will improve as the site grows, and it'll do so by using the talent that lives here, and they'll be paying you to do so. If you've got suggestions as to what you'd like to see there, drop a note in the FlashFoundry forum and let 'em know. The site will be as good as you make it--it can be a place to showcase your talents, and make some bucks in the process.

The larger question is, what sort of Flash content would you like to see available there (or anywhere for that matter)? If you were creating the site, what kind of content would you offer your fellow members of the FK community?

I'd want to see some flash animated gorillas in FlashFoundry... I'm always looking for Flash Gorillas for my flash gorilla website, but no one seems to have them!

    Whats up with that?

    We're looking to purchase
Exactly what are the compensation averages a potential submitter might expect? Surely a button submission doesn't warrant the same compensation as a template for instance. How is the level of skill gauged and how is that applied to incentive for creators as far as payment per category. The submission page has little actual info regarding this and instead offers an opportunity to submit your source first with no clue as to whether it is even worth your while to do so. Some users may want to know all the aspects of the process before releasing their code in a submission form, especially when the only readable data regarding a successful submission states you will be paid something if approved and that you will release ownership. Seems vague.

Is there any section of FlashFoundry where there is more detailed information regarding the whole process of submissions, payment schedules and related?

    Thanks in advance.

you are probably not going to be paid a lot of cash.
according to the flash foundry home page you can pay a one off fee and
    have access to unlimited downloads.
so for $9.95 you could download everything.
    you do the maths.

I could be wrong but I dont think there is much of a market for animations at all. However, I think people might pay for components and packages of classes. There are zillions of people who know how to animate the things they want to in flash but they get stuck when it comes to programming gadgets and interactive pieces and I believe would be happy to buy a skinnable component instead of figuring it out.

As someone else mentioned, I'm not sure that the one price pays for all model will be the best for attracting the most submissions. I think most people will basically want to join to buy one thing and then cancel the subscription. It would be a higher maintenance ordeal but I think it would be more effective to price things individually or at least by categories.

Clearly explaining what submitters get is also a good idea.

I would be more likely to submit if it had an istock format.

Well, personally, what keeps me away from it it's its design and presentation. Looks very unprofessional to me. A template from templatemonster looks way better than it.

And the presentation is important, it's the image of your company. Why didn't you do something like this? http://www.advanceflash.com/ disregard it's all flash, or the small fonts or whatever you don't like about that site, but it looks way more professional anyway. And see how they don't need to put their previews as animated gifs??????
