Video does not stream...help...
Hi:
I have a Flash Movie that is suppose to stream a .flv file off a website.
The problem is it doesn't work.
It works fine when I test it locally on my computer, but when I upload it to the server it doesn't play. I see the MediaPlayback Component that I placed in the Flash movie, but no video streams.
The URL to the .flv file is OK, I checked that.
Does a server need any specific settings? I am using Flash MX 2004 to make this, and no other software.
Any ideas, links, help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
SP

Can't Stream via HTTP
In FLV, "stream" means you are using a Flash Communication Server or a third-party hosted FVSS.
If you have uploaded the .flv to your server and are connecting to it via HTTP, you cannot "stream" the file.
Set the isLive parameter on the FLVPlayback component to false and see if anything changes.

Thank you
Hi:
I have gotten the video to play. We had to reset some MIME settings as someone else mentioned.
But thanks for the reply. I'm new to using video in Flash, so I'm saving your input as well. I'm still a bit in the dark about what is streaming vs. playing, progessive loading, etc.
Every bit of info helps.
Thanks again,
SP

Thank You
Hi:
I haven't tried that, but now that I know about it I will.
Looks like there's some good resources there.
Thanks for the link,
SP
