Copyright protection website to store your work?
I've been searching Google for the past hour looking for a website (that I thought I saw in Computer Arts or Digital Creative Arts) that allows you to upload your digital work for copyright protection purposes. Kinda like a depository for work that you have created for personal and professional projects. I know about CreativeCommons, but I don't think that was the site.
For some reason, the term; "I made it first" or "I created it first" comes to mind...
Any of you know or have any inkling as to what I'm talking about? Is there such a thing? Does mailing yourself work really protect intellectual property?

I don't know about other countries, but here in the US a copyright is only recognized by the courts if it has been filed with the US copyright office. The thing about mailing something to yourself is a myth.
If you read the copyright statutes, you'll find that copyright actually exisits at the time the work was created, but that won't help in court, and that's really what matters... right?

Creative commons has to do with licensing works for use, and the terms by which the works may be used. Copyright is a matter of ownership.
