    koolmoves 5.3 problem

well i dont know if the problem is just my computer or koolmoves. but, i updated my dads windows 2000 to the new 5.3 the other day. it worked fine. i tried to update koolmoves on my laptop this morning. it is a windows 98. every time i try and run the program (koolmoves NOT the instalation) it gives me that little grey box saying. "this program has performed an illegal operation and will be shut down. if the problem persists contact the vendor". I tried two different instalation files ( the one i downloaded) and the one i used for my dads computer. but with both of them koolmoves didnt work.

if anyone can help let me know since i love koolmoves and was in the middle of a school project. its a bit unhandy not to be able to work on your laptop, but i can use my dads computer till then.

    thanks

I wouldn't expect Win98 Support. I know I have several programs that do not support 98

well i thought i might ask since version 5.2.4 worked on 98 (i missed 5.2.5). but the world has to continue to advance.

Well the upside is you could always keep 5.2.4 running on the 98 machine

The difference between 5.2.4 and 5.3 is fairly minor so I am surprised there is a problem. I don't have Windows 98 so I can't test it. Maybe someone else can confirm.

Hmmm...have you tried totally de installing then re-installing..

Do you have the latest visual basic and richedit installed...might make a difference.

Maybe run system file checker...could be a missing/corrupt file that has been unnoticed up to now.

I run koolmoves with a 98lite micro setup with no probs as it uses only standard windows modules.Often getting software to run on 2000 is the problem.

    good luck..

It doesn't use visual basic. I suggest closing down open apps before opening KoolMoves.

I discovered the problem. I accidently compiled the app as unicode which will not work for Win98/Me. Download again.
